Five ways to repurpose spaces in your home
Sometimes our homes need a little freshening up. This may be replacing some old homewares with new ones you stumbled upon at a Black Friday sale or a local antiques store. Sometimes, our homes need something more than some new decor.
We’re sharing five ways you can freshen up your home by repurposing spaces:
Add a walk-in-robe
If you have a spare room near or adjacent to your master bedroom, turn it into a walk-in-robe or dressing room depending on the room size. This can free up space in your bedroom so you can make it a truly relaxing place, storing your wardrobe items in another room.
Create a space for the kids
The space below a staircase is the perfect spot for kids to hang out with one another. You could make it a quiet reading nook with an assortment of blankets and cushions or play area with toys for young ones to enjoy.
Build one big room out of two small ones
Some houses are built with tiny rooms that end up having little use for the people in who live in it. If you have two small rooms, you can convert them into one bigger living space to be enjoyed by the whole family.
Upgrade the junk room
The junk room of the house can often be used for a better purpose. Tidy up the items you store in the room and you could convert it into a study for teenagers or work from home space.
Use your garage or outbuilding to host a family member
If you don’t use your garage for storage or to park your car, or outbuilding for storage, you can repurpose it to allow a family member to reside in or use. For example, it could become a granny flat or studio space.
